Ribeira Sacra is one of the most unique places in Galicia and one of the hidden treasures of the Iberian Peninsula, located on the banks of the Miño and Sil Rivers. It is a destination where rivers, landscapes, the abundance of Romanesque monuments, and ancient vineyards create an incomparable setting. These are natural areas of the Natura 2000 Network and are classified as Special Conservation Areas. This area serves as an excellent refuge for many species of animals and plants, finding in this land a suitable habitat to thrive.

The Sil River has the designation of protection ZEC, meaning Special Conservation Zone.

With a catamaran trip, we were able to see the canyons of the Sil River filled with steep vineyards, where the grape harvest is done by hand, giving rise to wines with a designation of origin. In this place, there is the highest concentration of Romanesque art in Europe, with monasteries such as Ribas de Sil, which we visited, or San Pedro de Rocas..
